FAQ

Why is this a free service?

Apartment owners pay licensed real estate agents a locator commission for placing tenants in their properties. This website is owned and operated by a licensed real estate broker and we will receive a locator commission if you write “Apartment Database” as your referral source on apartment guest cards and lease applications.

How can you pay me $200?

We choose to provide a flat $200 rebate to those who use our website to find their apartment and follow the requirements for the rebate listed here. Some apartment locators advertise higher rebates but then you find out that it is only offered for certain apartments with much higher rent than you can afford. Some others don’t offer any rebate at all. We decided to offer a flat, $200 rebate across the board and are happy to do it.

How long until I receive my check?

Once you notify us of your signed lease we will send an invoice to the apartments for our commission. Different apartments have different policies for paying commissions and some will not pay the invoice until you have occupied the unit for 30 days. As soon as we get paid we will mail your check.

Are there any reasons I wouldn’t be able to receive a rebate?

  • If you are moving within the same apartment complex or to a sister property
  • If you have already had contact with the apartments that you are moving to and did not write “Apartment Database” as your referral source
  • If your lease term is less than 6 months we do not offer a rebate
  • If, for any reason, we are not able to collect our commission then we can’t issue a rebate

Do you provide one-on-one assistance with locating my apartment?

No. We feel that consumers today are perfectly capable of using the internet to conduct their search. In fact, most people don’t want personal assistance. That is why we have provided a searchable database of apartments and can also afford to give a much higher than normal rebate!

Who do I contact if I have a question about a particular apartment?

Please use the phone number listed in the apartment information to contact the apartment’s management directly. Just be sure to let them know you found them through “Apartment Database”.
